I didn’t believe it at first, but when I was told that rain makes Barcelona stop in its tracks I quickly realized that it is true. Yesterday I made the effort to make a trip with some friends to Monserrat which I have been wanting to go to. It is a local mountain with some hiking, beautiful views and an incredible Monastery on the top. Well, upon arrival we were told the train wasn’t working that takes people from the base to the peak of Monserrat, so we were out of luck. Wet from the Barcelona rain (wasn’t raining at our final destination), we hoped on the Metro to a different train with hopes of disappearing to another destination for a day of relaxation. Tarragona here we come, bought our tickets and waited, waited, and waited. After 45 minutes I knew something was wrong, and there was. Train was cancelled. But because why?
After two strike outs we knew we couldn’t try again, so we stayed in Barcelona for an incredible Japanese lunch and an afternoon or relaxation. Later that same evening on the news we heard that Tarragona had been having awful storms and the train was cancelled due to that. Everything happens for a reason. I think because the city is so used to having incredible weather, a day of rain is the perfect excuse to relax.
I am kinda missing the beautiful weather from last weekend. We went to an incredible airshow on the beach which was a ton of fun! Saw a ton of planes, soaked up some rays and had a goodtime! So for now, I am just going to sit back and relax.
Ps…Mary comes in a week…can life get any better than that???
