The Calm before the Storm

Many believe that there is a calm before the storm. To me, this saying resembles a huge false truth. Think about all the storms in your life, would you say there was this frozen atmosphere surrounding you in pure silent bliss?

Needless to say, today is the great storm for me. Flight leaves out of Philly Int. Airport at 2:55 heading to LAX and then off to the beautiful Hong Kong. Leading up to this day has been nothing close to calm. Though these past few days have been rather enjoyable, they were packed with goodbyes, last suppers, packing, repacking, don't know how to pack, preparing and praying....and what trip preparation doesn't include a few surprises. I must say, my last day in the US of A was a rather enjoyable day. Great night of sleep, packing break at Ringing Rocks, a wonderful lunch, an amazing Skype session with Messiah's finest and some unexpected but meaningful farewell visits.

What am I thinking....
At this point I am thinking about saying good bye to a country of the free, silverware and the normality's we as Americans look for in our daily cuisine. Granted I survived the depths of the African Safari earlier this summer, I look forward to experience a developed China built above the underground 3rd world. This summer was an incredible journey and time spent in reflections and trying to establish a better sense of me. This journey will only continue through my adventures in China and India.

Besides putting my luggage in the car, some last minute phone calls, and a brief moment of prayer, my journey will commence today and I am sure will be yet another one of my adventures of a life time.
